EDDY ARNOLD-TWO NUMBER ONES IN 1948 by oldcountrytunes
Eddy Arnold covered THE ENTIRE YEAR of 1948 with a number one song in the country music category EXCEPT for the lone Jimmy Wakely entry, "One Has My Name". Two of Eddy's number ones are here: "Anytime" and "Bouquet Of Roses". This was the time in Eddy's career when he was TRULY a traditional country singer and the shame of it all is that he actually RESENTED being called a country or hillbilly singer. Later, he was to change his style and by so doing, he sold more records. His style was still good, but it NEVER (in my opinion) was as good as it was in the middle and late 1940s.
